The Definition of the Environment

Environment refers to everything surrounding an individual or animal, both living and nonliving things alike. It can include specific geographical areas that range in size. Environment plays an integral role in human lives by providing food, shelter and energy needs; its components include Earth, Water, air, plants and animals – as well as our bodies!

Human environments encompass both physical and cultural surroundings that impact an individual’s daily life, including work, home, school and social settings. Individual environments vary depending on where they reside and are unique for each person.

Environment has an immense effect on one’s personality, development and health. People must learn to adapt to their surroundings; otherwise they will feel uncomfortable and unhappy in them. Furthermore, individuals should respect the environment by not polluting soil, water or air sources – this will ensure natural resources stay in great condition, thus supporting more biodiversity and creating greater diversity.

Environment can be divided into two distinct categories, the biotic and the abiotic. Biotic elements refer to living organisms such as animals and plants in an ecosystem, while abiotic elements refer to nonliving materials like soil, water and air that make up this space. Together these factors interact to form ecosystems that sustain life – sunlight is captured by plants before being converted into chemical energy consumed by organisms in an ecosystem, then dissipated back into its surroundings as heat energy.

Many individuals are becoming increasingly concerned with the state of their environment when news reports surface concerning species extinctions, climate changes and destruction of old forests. This has given rise to environmentalism; an approach designed to protect and conserve natural environments. Individuals can help by eliminating plastic foam products, recycling their garbage responsibly and using renewable sources of energy such as solar for heating/cooling/transport.

Environment refers to any set of circumstances that influence how someone acts and behaves, from their childhood upbringing through to adulthood. A person’s surroundings have an effect on his/her character and personality development; other terms related to this concept include milieu, ambiance, and setting – where milieu refers to an exhilarating milieu full of artistic ferment; while ambiance describes feeling or tone of place such as cozy yet welcoming atmospheres; setting refers to physical aspects like exotic locales or familiar neighborhoods as backdrops for example

Environment can refer to any aspect of nature, from rivers and mountains to deserts; and human-made surroundings like buildings, roads, and cities. Furthermore, this term can also refer to an individual’s social, economic and political surroundings in which they reside or work.
